One girl suffered severe burns after carnival participants, who were held on Saturday in Epingen, Germany, thrown into a boiling pot of hot water.
The eighteen-year-old was first held above the boiler from which the hot steam was lifted and then finished with drowned in the water. The helicopter was taken to a special clinic where her injuries were treated.
About 2000 participants were dressed in witches for the annual witchhiker season organized by the local cafe for the carnival season.
The Carnival dating back to the 13th century is celebrated in that part of Germany by masking witches and devils in colorful costumes and wooden face masks.
